Job Requirements

POSITION SUMMARY :

To be fully engaged in providing Quality / No Harm, Customer Experience, and Stewardship by : providing exceptional administrative support to the assigned department, providers and patients. The Surgical Scheduler must schedule office based and hospital procedures consistent with the patient's diagnosis and procedure request. Also requires excellent customer service skills in interfacing with internal and external customers. The Surgical Scheduler must be able to respond to both written and oral correspondence regarding appointments, cancellations, and delays.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Quality / No Harm :

• Schedule pre-operative and post-operative appointments.
• Within scope of practice, may order appropriate pre-operative labs and required testing
• entering into the Electronic Medical Record.
• Schedule surgical procedures at multiple ORs.
• Coordinate surgical assistance and arranges for surgical equipment representatives to be
• available and present for procedures.
• Ensure that H & Ps (history & physical exams) are sent to appropriate facility.
• Update physician calendars with surgical schedule as changes are required.
• Order / schedule diagnostic testing as appropriate and enter into EMR
• Ensure pre-operative clearance is obtained
• Complete disability paperwork for surgical patients
• Enters surgical charges into financial system for accurate invoicing.
