We are looking to hire an experienced Project Superintendent with experience in civil construction to join our team.
The Project Superintendent works under the direction of the VP of Operations and the Operations Manager. The Superintendent is responsible for planning, managing, and coordinating all field activities throughout the project lifecycle, from initial planning through completion. This role oversees staffing, scheduling, and daily site operations to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards.
Responsibilities:
Provide overall field leadership and supervision of foremen, crews, and subcontractors to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with project specifications.
Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily field operations, including manpower, equipment utilization, materials, and subcontractor activities.
Coach, mentor, and support Foremen to maintain strong field leadership, improve crew performance, and promote employee engagement.
Collaborate with Project Managers, engineers, estimators, and office personnel to ensure alignment of project schedules, resources, and operational goals.
Review project plans, specifications, and schedules to ensure work is performed according to project requirements and quality standards.
Coordinate work between crews, subcontractors, vendors, and other project stakeholders to maintain efficient workflow and minimize delays.
Monitor jobsite productivity and proactively identify potential risks, scheduling conflicts, or operational challenges, and implement solutions.
Ensure compliance with company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and project safety requirements while promoting a strong safety culture across all crews.
Conduct regular jobsite inspections to review safety, productivity, quality of work, and adherence to project plans and specifications.
Maintain accurate field documentation, including daily reports, production tracking, safety documentation, and schedule updates.
Assist with workforce planning, including staffing needs, equipment allocation, construction sequencing, and material requirements.
Support the Project Manager in monitoring labor productivity, project costs, and equipment utilization.
Maintain professional working relationships with clients, inspectors, subcontractors, and vendors to support successful project delivery.
Assist with hiring, training, and performance management of field personnel and help resolve personnel issues in coordination with leadership and HR.
Serve as a primary escalation point for field issues and ensure timely resolution of operational challenges.
Perform other related duties as assigned to support project success and operational needs.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Understanding of construction principles and procedures
Knowledge of all OSHA and safety requirements
Ability to travel within the State of Colorado
Strong leadership skills
Excellent communication skills
Bilingual in English and Spanish is highly preferred
Excellent organization and planning skills
Valid Driver’s license
Education and Experience:
Education: Minimum High school diploma/GED required.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in heavy civil construction. Experience with Heavy Job preferred.
