Job description

Property Accountant

Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking a Property Accountant to join their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting pay rate of $45.00 to $50.00 per hour.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage accounting activities for a portfolio of commercial properties and ensure accurate financial records are maintained.
  • Prepare journal entries, accruals, and supporting schedules as part of the month end close process.
  • Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies as needed.
  • Process tenant related transactions, including billings, cash receipts, and account adjustments.
  • Prepare financial reports, budget support schedules, variance analyses, and other property level reporting.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in property accounting with responsibility for full cycle accounting functions.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and accrual based financial reporting.
  • Prior experience preparing reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statements.
  • Proficiency with MRI accounting software.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast paced and deadline driven environment.

Qualifications:

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve variances.
  • Effective communication skills for working with property management and internal stakeholders.
  • Organized work style with the ability to manage multiple properties and priorities simultaneously.
  • Self motivated approach with the ability to support both day to day accounting activities and higher level reporting needs.
