About this Position :

Veritas HHS is a government services company that primarily provides child support enforcement services to state and county governments. The proposal writer will work with executives and other proposal team members to develop winning proposals for government contracts.

Primary Responsibilities :

Compiles necessary information for proposal development through collaboration with executives, other members of the proposal team, and subject-matter experts

Conducts database research and other fact-finding activities

Researches and analyzes competitor proposals

Drafts proposal narratives to address Request for Proposal (RFP) requirements, which typically involve qualifications statements, staffing plans, and descriptions of the company’s technical approach

Ensures proposal is developed and submitted on time and within RFP specifications

Completes documents, forms, or reports required for proposal submission

Edits and proofreads proposals for clarity, consistency, and accuracy

Supports the development of graphics, charts, and other visuals to enhance proposal readability

Develops and maintains proposal electronic master files, including the development of an Artificial Intelligence (AI) repository

When no proposals are in process, keeps resumes up to date and refines responses to common requirements

Performs other related duties as assigned

Requirements

Experience writing successful proposals for government contracts; experience with health and human services contracts preferred

Exceptional writing and editing skills

Thorough understanding of effective proposal writing techniques

Ability to meet deadlines as demanded by RFPs, which may mean working extra hours to complete a high-quality product in time for submission

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with special proficiency in Microsoft Word

Experience in developing proposal graphics would be a plus

Experience with AI proposal repositories preferred

Well organized and meticulous with details

Ability to be discreet with personal information that may be needed for some proposals, such as employee salaries or proprietary company technical approaches and tools

Education and Experience :

Bachelor’s degree in English, communications, , social sciences, or related field preferred; alternative experience directly relevant to the position may be substituted

At least five years of experience in proposal writing experience highly preferred
