The position serves as the technical authority for circuit assembly-related quality, supporting manufacturing, test, and supplier performance while driving defect prevention and corrective action.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide engineering oversight and technical guidance for circuit assembly, soldering and electronic integration processes to ensure compliance with engineering requirements and IPC standards

  • Review and interpret schematics, engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical data packages to establish inspection and acceptance criteria

  • Develop, implement, and maintain Quality Control Plans (QCPs) and inspection criteria for circuit assemblies and electronic components

  • Support and participate in Material Review Board (MRB) activities including evaluation of nonconforming circuit assemblies, root cause analysis, and disposition development (use-as-is, repair, rework, scrap)

  • Provide technical support to manufacturing and inspection personnel on circuit assembly workmanship standards, defect identification, and acceptance criteria (e.g., solder joints, component placement, cleanliness, coating)

  • Investigate recurring defects related to circuit assemblies (e.g., solder defects, component failures, workmanship issues) and support corrective action activities

  • Develop and refine inspection and verification processes to ensure adequate defect detection while maintaining production efficiency

  • Review supplier documentation including Certificates of Conformance (CoCs), test data, and traceability records for circuit assemblies and components

  • Identify risks associated with circuit assembly design, manufacturing processes, and supplier performance; escalate systemic issues impacting product quality or delivery

  • Support program quality teams by analyzing defect data, yield trends, and failure modes related to circuit assemblies

  • Ensure circuit assembly manufacturing and inspection processes comply with the Quality Management System (QMS) and applicable industry standards (e.g., AS9100, IPC standards)

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or related technical field) or equivalent experience

  • Experience in electronics manufacturing, circuit assembly, or quality engineering within a production environment

  • Strong ability to read and interpret schematics, engineering drawings, specifications, and technical data packages
