JOB DESCRIPTION
My Psychiatrist is a well-established multi-disciplinary outpatient mental health group practice. We are seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) for our Falls Church location.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assessing patients' mental health, conducting mental health screenings and evaluations to identify potential mental health disorders
- Developing and implementing evidence-based treatment plans that address the physical, emotional, and social needs of patients
- Medication management : prescribing and monitoring psychotropic medications
- Monitoring and adjusting medications as needed to ensure effectiveness and minimize side effects
- Educating patients and their families about mental health conditions, medications, and lifestyle changes that can improve overall well-being
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including psychologists, counselors, social workers, and psychiatrists, to provide comprehensive care to patients
- Keeping accurate patient records and documentation
- Staying up-to-date with best practices and advancements in the field of psychiatric mental health nursing to ensure high-quality care.
