1. Unit Name : Epstein 3 2. Brief Unit Description : Geriatric Psych Unit. We treat patients with diverse types of mental health issues (anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, dual diagnosis patients : Detox here on the unit while treating mental health issues), and some medically acute patients (IVs, CPAPs, Wound Care, diabetic care).

3. Years of Experience Required :

2 years minimum of inpatient adult psych experience.

4. Skill Sets Required : Proficient in using automatic medication dispensing system (Omni Cell); proficient in electronic health records documentation, preferably EPIC; proficient in the use of psychotropic medications and side effects; Able to assume the role of charge nurse; Able to complete admissions and discharges; Competent in the use of IV pumps; Competent in care of a diabetic patient. 5. Clinician to Patient Ratio : 1 RN to 7 or 8 patients. 6. Patient Population : Geriatric Adults

7. EMR (Charting System) : EPIC. 8. Floating Required : Yes. 9. Rotating Shifts Required : Yes for Day Rotate (possibility of rotating to 11am-11pm or 7pm-7am). No Rotation required for Night Shift. 10. Certifications Required : AHA BLS, Certification in De-escalation.

11. Additional Information : We offer AVADE Training on site as well as EKG Training. Knowledge of the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health rules and regulations : Rights of an inpatient requirements related to restraint and seclusion, legal statuses. Knowledge of law pertaining to guardianship, healthcare proxy (invoked vs confirmed) court ordered Medication.
