Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) has an outstanding opportunity for a BE / BC psychiatrist interested in serving in our Psychiatric Emergency Service with Unity Center for Behavioral Health.
offers emergency as well as inpatient mental health treatment for adults, including walk-in or drop-off services. We provide immediate psychiatric care and a path to stabilization and recovery for individuals experiencing a mental health crisis, and utilizes a non-coercive, highly community-oriented treatment program, which prevents hospitalization when possible, and returns patients to community services as soon as feasible. This 100+ bed psychiatric hospital and large psychiatric emergency service in Portland, Oregon is a collaborative effort to address the mental health needs of the community.
UCBH is also a major training site for the department’s residency training program, medical students, and other health profession’s trainees. This is a unique opportunity for a creative, energetic psychiatrist to treat, teach and advance their academic interests, while cultivating the next generation of leaders in the field. Our mission is to provide top-tier clinical care while advancing knowledge in psychiatric practice, treatment modalities, and engaging in public outreach.
The appointee shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the university’s missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service.

Function / Duties of Position
This position will provide patient care in the Psychiatric Emergency Service. Psychiatric Emergency Service (PES) - Psychiatrist is responsible for the medical care and psychiatric evaluation of every patient in the PES that is in the facility during their shift.
