Job descriptionWe welcome applications from any area of child / adolescent clinical psychology. All applicants should show evidence of a strong independent research program, a commitment to working with students from diverse backgrounds, and excellence in graduate and undergraduate teaching and practicum supervision. We are particularly interested in researchers who would broaden existing departmental strengths by adding expertise in areas such as pediatric health psychology, autism spectrum disorders, and childhood trauma. We also welcome applicants outside of these areas. A CV. A cover letter, including the applicant’s name, current title / institution, a brief description of the applicant’s research focus, and a brief statement on how the applicant views their fit for the department. A research statement with up to 1500 words on the applicant’s past research and future research goals if selected for the position. Up to three representative publications (Writing Samples- publications must be combined into one PDF for uploading). A teaching statement (up to 1000 words) that includes their teaching and mentoring style, courses they would be prepared and excited to teach, and the candidate’s experience or perspective on teaching and mentoring the UNCG student population (Teaching Philosophy). Names and e-mail addresses of three people to be contacted for letters of recommendation. Applicants are asked to provide the names, email addresses, and phone numbers of at least three (3) contacts to provide Letters of Recommendation in the References section of the electronic application. The Department of Psychology consists of 28 full-time faculty and offers a BA and BS in psychology, an MA in General Experimental Psychology, and the Ph.D. in developmental, clinical, cognitive, and social psychology (See https : / / psy.uncg.edu / for more information).
Position Summary :
The Department of Psychology at UNC-Greensboro invites applications for a tenure-track position in Clinical Psychology (Assistant Professor level), to begin August 1, 2026. The Department of Psychology consists of 28 full-time faculty and offers a BA and BS in psychology, including Disciplinary Honors, an MA in experimental psychology, and a PhD in clinical, cognitive, developmental, and social psychology (See http : / / psy.uncg.edu for more information).
Our department is home to the UNCG Psychology Clinic ( https : / / psy.uncg.edu / clinic / ), our doctoral training clinic that provides mental health services to the broader community, with a focus on providing empirically supported treatments to underserved populations in a culturally competent manner. UNCG’s clinical program emphasizes the integration of science and practice, values both basic and applied research on human behavior across the life span, and encourages collaboration across research areas. The doctoral program in Clinical Psychology is accredited by the American Psychological Association.
