Job Summary

The Department of Psychological Science at the University of North Georgia is accepting applications for a full-time Tenure-Track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor (with benefits) for Fall 2026. Teaching responsibilities will be on the Gainesville campus. A specialty in cognitive neuroscience (or closely-related area) is required. Successful applicants will be able to teach courses in Cognitive Psychology, Neuroscience, and Biopsychology, as well as introductory courses in the science of psychology and upper-division level courses in their area of expertise.

Responsibilities
  • Faculty typically teach 12 hours per semester (undergraduate), including a combination of service courses, upper-level offerings (including lab-based courses), and courses in their specialty area.
  • Faculty in the Department of Psychological Science are expected to engage in professional development and scholarly pursuits and the involvement of Undergraduate students in these endeavors.
  • Faculty at UNG are expected to contribute to the department, university, and their profession through appropriate service obligations, including the advising of students.
  • Holding office hours and attending department, college, and university-level meetings.
Required Qualifications
  • A doctorate in psychology is required, ABD will be considered, but preference will be given to candidates with degrees in hand at the time of appointment.
  • Specialization in the area of cognitive neuroscience or a closely-related area is required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Preference will be given to candidates with undergraduate teaching experience.
