Associate's degree in television productions, journalism, marketing, public relations, or a related field. Two to three years of professional experience with a media outlet or publication. Graphic design and creation on desktop and mobile using software like Canva, and other digital imagery creation. Utilizing Adobe Pro and Microsoft Office 365 suite. Expediting effective & accurate communications & appropriately disseminating the messaging. Creating digital content for multiple social media platforms, i.e. X, Meta, Instagram, Nextdoor, etc. Producing, directing, casting, script development, location scouting, set dressing, lighting, and filming a multi-camera video production. Directing executive level staff, chiefs, and VIPs during various multimedia productions. Recording, mixing & producing audio for live broadcast and / or podcast. The Phoenix Police Department is seeking a Multimedia Specialist to join the Public Affairs Bureau. The Multimedia Specialist position is a dynamic, creative, and highly technical career with a critical role in advancing the positive image of the department.
Responsibilities will include :
- Producing official department in-studio and on-location photography, videography, digital media content creation.
- Audio capture and mixing.
- Traditional and mobile platform video capturing and editing for department messaging and training.
- Web design.
- Graphic design.
- Live program broadcasting.
- General multimedia management to include media archiving and retrieving.
- A working knowledge of legacy media and related playback equipment.
- Any relative special projects as directed by the bureau administrator.
Interested applicants must be self-motivated and possess strong effective written and verbal communication skills. Applicants must be able to work professionally both solo and in a team environment while under pressure to meet strict deadlines delivering high quality products with minimal direct supervision.
