This job description is based on the Public Health Advocate Series. May be required to perform any and all duties and
responsibilities of a Public Health Advocate 1, as set forth in the BPHC Public Health Advocate Series.
High school diploma or GED required. Licenses, certifications or program specific experience may be required by grant or program needs.
Experience in health care, public health or social service field preferred. Home visiting or family work experience preferred. Demonstrated experience or
related requirements as established by the program may be needed.
Experience in community outreach / case management activities a plus. Knowledge and experience in maternal and child health. Good knowledge of interviewing techniques. Demonstrated cultural competence with diverse ethnic, cultural and socio-economic groups.
Must have knowledge of local community organizations, the courts and government agencies.
Good organizational skills with the ability to develop time lines, meet deadlines and be self-directed.
PC skills preferred. Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Bilingual fluency preferred.
Valid MA driver's license and daily access to vehicle preferred.
