A respected hedge fund is seeking a Public Fund Accountant to join its Public Funds team in Old Greenwich, Connecticut. This position supports the accounting and reporting functions for two publicly traded entities. This role offers exposure to complex financial instruments, regulatory reporting, and the inner workings of a top-tier investment firm. Public Fund Accountant Responsibilities :

• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements for multiple public fund entities
• Perform balance sheet and P&L reconciliations and support general ledger maintenance
• Collaborate with outside administrators to obtain and verify key data
• Assist with budgeting, accruals, and regulatory reporting
• Support quarterly and annual audits, working directly with external auditors
• Contribute to SEC and public company filings with the finance and reporting teams
• Analyze financial data for accuracy and compliance with GAAP standards
• Participate in continuous process improvement and automation initiatives
