SUMMARY
We are looking for an experienced Director, Public Affairs professional to join our Brightline West team. This individual will be an essential member of the Communications team, responsible for media relations, all construction communications, and aspects of community outreach. This role reports to Brightline’s head of Corporate affairs.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Media Functions
- Lead all aspects of media and public communications related to construction of Brightline West.
- Manage high levels of earned media opportunities related to Brightline West brand.
- On the record spokesperson and day-to-day engagement with members of the media.
- Establish and maintain relationships with state and trade media.
- Work directly with Brightline West construction team for planning and public communications.
- Manage the Brightline West website and construction page.
- Develop presentations, press releases, talking points, executive communications, and other public documents.
- Oversee the development of content related to Brightline West social media.
- Manage incoming speaking requests.
- Manage major public events related to the progress and construction of Brightline West.
- Implement public affairs and community outreach plans related to our partnership with state transit agencies; complement the overall plan with the development of niche public affairs strategies.
