Univ-Parking Lot Attendant-Public Safety

Patrols assigned parking areas diligently, giving particular attention to and often rechecking those locations where problems have been reported. Makes rounds of assigned area at least three times during the shift, appropriately documents and verbally reports discrepancies. Sustains attentiveness. Knows locations of call boxes and fire extinguishers, coordinates with other officers and attendants checks IDs and passes. Courteously assists all persons seeking directions, information or assistance.

Job duties include :

• 30% Patrols assigned areas diligently, giving particular attention to and often rechecking those locations where problems have been frequent. Makes rounds of assigned area at least three times during the shift. Sustains attentiveness. Promptly responds to all emergencies, knows locations of call boxes and fire extinguishers. Essential
• 20% Responds punctually to all assignments and immediately. Essential
• 15% Notifies supervisor or officer assigned to the areas if the vehicle has created a problem. Escorts persons as required. Reports suspicious persons loitering and notifies Dispatchers. Essential
• 15% Operates two-way radio and responds per the direction of Dispatcher. Essential
• 10% Courteously assists all persons seeking directions, information or assistance. Essential
• 10% Informs the relieving attendant or officer of all information and concerns of interest or importance to them in the proper performance of their job duty. Essential

Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent education. Physical requirements include the ability to stand / walk for extended periods of time, lift materials up to 50 lbs unassisted, and lift, drag, pull persons to safety, weighing up to 300 lbs, assisted. Additional requirements include the ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver's license, computer literacy, and the ability to work overtime as required.
