As a Donor Relations and Stewardship Assistant, you'll support our development or fundraising team by managing donor information, assisting with donor communications, and helping to implement stewardship activities. In this role, you'll ensure donors feel appreciated and connected to our organization's mission, which is crucial for donor retention and future fundraising efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records, including contact information, Sponsorship history, and preferences, often using a CRM database.
- Donor Communications: You'll assist with creating and distributing personalized donor acknowledgments, impact reports, and other communications to keep donors informed about how their contributions are making a difference.
- Stewardship Activities: You'll support the coordination of donor recognition events, stewardship initiatives, and special projects that enhance donor engagement.
- Administrative Support: You'll provide general administrative support to the development team, including scheduling meetings, managing correspondence, organizing donor files, and assisting with internal tracking systems.
- Event Coordination: You'll assist with preparation of materials and coordination of RSVPs, the logistics of donor-related events, such as venue selection, catering, and registration.
- Reporting: Help prepare reports on donor engagement trends and stewardship impact to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
Skills and Competences:
- Strong Communication Skills: You possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, which are essential for interacting with donors and colleagues.
- Attention to Detail: You demonstrate accuracy and keen attention to detail, crucial for maintaining donor records and ensuring the smooth execution of stewardship activities.
- Organizational Skills: You have the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines, which is vital in this role especially during busy campaign or event periods.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: You have strong skills in Word, Excel, and other relevant software. Familiarity with Google Workspace is a plus.
- CRM Database Experience: You're often preferred to have familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) systems used for fundraising and donor management.
- Experience in Fundraising or Development (preferred): Prior experience in a non-profit or higher education setting is often a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in fundraising support, donor relations, or administrative roles in a nonprofit environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with donors, colleagues, and stakeholders.
- Experience coordinating events and managing multiple stakeholders simultaneously.
- Familiarity with data analytics tools for donor engagement tracking is an added advantage.
Time Commitment
- Full-time role with standard office hours.
- Flexibility may be required during donor campaigns, reporting cycles, and donor-related events.
Remote/In-Person Status
- Primarily remote, with consistent online collaboration and reporting.
- Occasional in-person presence for donor meetings, recognition events, and team coordination activities.
