We are an 85-bed acute care community hospital in Westfield, Massachusetts. We provide access to the world-class doctors, treatments, diagnostics, and technology of the Baystate Health network. Summary Description
The Manager, Public Safety, is responsible for the daily management, supervision, and coordination of security and public safety operations across assigned hospital campuses and associated facilities within the health system. This position helps provide a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff through effective leadership, policy implementation, and collaboration with clinical, administrative, and law enforcement partners. The Public Safety Manager oversees staffing, training, compliance, and operational performance in alignment with the organization's mission, regulatory standards, and industry best practices.

Required Qualifications

Education
Required : Bachelor's Degree in criminal justice, security management, or related field.
Required Experience
Minimum of 57 years of progressive experience in security or law enforcement, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role, preferably in a healthcare environment. Strong working knowledge of healthcare safety, security, and regulatory compliance standards.
Preferred Experience
Experience with access control, video management, and incident reporting systems. Familiarity with emergency preparedness, risk management, and workplace violence prevention programs.
