Job Description: This position is responsible for ensuring safety and protecting lives by preventing and responding to emergencies. Performance Responsibilities: Maintain the safety of the patrons in and around the pool Communicate and enforce all pool rules in a personable and professional manner Communicate any potentially dangerous elements of the facility to the Pool Director Perform patron surveillance with a rescue tube from the guard stand Remain alert and use all senses while guarding Work as a team with other lifeguards Handle all incidents in a manner appropriate to your training Make sure all emergency equipment is on the pool deck before classes start (backboard, first aid bag, rings, poles etc.) Return to the office at the end of the day.
