Human Resources Generalist Temporary 68 Week Assignment

Pay: $40.00$45.00 per hour

Duration: Approximately 68 weeks, immediate need

Position Type: Temporary / Leave Coverage

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist for a temporary 68 week assignment to provide coverage during an employee leave of absence. This individual will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day HR needs of the organization while serving as a knowledgeable and approachable resource for employees and management.

The ideal candidate will be a well-rounded HR professional who can step into an existing operation with minimal ramp-up time, independently manage routine HR responsibilities, and confidently address employee questions and basic employee-relations matters. In addition to maintaining current HR processes, this person will have an opportunity to help establish, document, and improve HR procedures where needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate new-hire onboarding, including completion and maintenance of I-9s, W-4s, personnel documentation, and employee files.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee personnel records in accordance with company policies and applicable requirements.
  • Assist with benefits administration, including employee questions, enrollment changes, and communication with benefit providers as needed.
  • Support the administration and coordination of temporary employees and staffing agency personnel.
  • Assist with recruiting activities, including candidate communication, interview scheduling, and coordination with hiring managers.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employees regarding general HR policies, benefits, attendance, procedures, and workplace questions.
  • Maintain employee information and records within the company's HRIS and other HR-related systems.
  • Monitor and assist with attendance, timekeeping, and related employee documentation.
  • Coordinate and maintain documentation related to workers' compensation claims and communicate with employees, management, carriers, and other parties as appropriate.
  • Address routine employee-relations matters, including workplace concerns, communication issues, and conflict resolution.
  • Provide guidance to supervisors and employees regarding established company policies and HR practices.
  • Assist with offboarding, including separation documentation, benefits information, return of company property, and personnel-file updates.
  • Support reasonable-suspicion drug-testing procedures, including appropriate documentation, coordination, and adherence to company policy.
  • Assist with internal HR audits, compliance reviews, and recordkeeping requirements.
  • Review existing HR practices and help establish, document, and improve HR procedures to promote consistency and compliance.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive employee and company information.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in an HR Generalist, HR Manager, HR Business Partner, or similar hands-on Human Resources role.
  • Strong working knowledge of employee onboarding, benefits, employee relations, workers' compensation, HRIS administration, and HR documentation.
  • Experience handling employee relations and workplace conflict resolution with professionalism and sound judgment.
  • Ability to work independently and quickly become familiar with an organization's existing HR processes.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Comfortable interacting with employees at all levels of an organization.
  • Knowledge of federal and state employment regulations and general HR compliance practices.
  • Experience supporting or developing HR policies and procedures is preferred.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality when working with employee and company information.

Ideal Candidate

This assignment would be an excellent fit for a seasoned HR professional or HR consultant who enjoys stepping into an organization, quickly assessing what needs attention, keeping daily HR functions running smoothly, and leaving processes organized and well documented for the returning HR team member.
