  • Therefore, we will earn a fair profit and ensure our future.

Who We're Looking For

The Benefits Specialist is responsible for the administration, compliance, and daily management of Reiser's employee health and welfare benefit programs. This role serves as the primary internal resource for employees regarding benefits-related questions and ensures accurate processing, regulatory compliance, and to make a positive employee experience across all benefit programs.

Must-Have's:

What You'll Do:

Administration Benefits

  • Administer all employee health and welfare benefit programs including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, HSA, and 401(k) plans.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefits inquiries.
  • Support new hire onboarding and benefits enrollment processes.
  • Coordinate and manage the annual open enrollment process, including employee communications and system updates.
  • Oversee COBRA administration and termination benefit processing.
  • Administer and monitor retirement and profit-sharing plans.

Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations including ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, ACA, and other applicable laws.
  • Coordinate preparation and filing of Form 5500 and related compliance documentation.
  • Manage audits and support documentation requests.
  • Monitor vendor performance and maintain plan documentation.

Vendor & Financial Management

  • Reconcile benefit invoices and ensure accurate billing.
  • Work closely with brokers and carriers to resolve escalated issues.
  • Assist in renewal preparation and benefits data analysis.

Leave & Workers Compensation

  • Support administration of leave of absence programs.
  • Coordinate Workers' Compensation reporting and documentation.

HR & Cross-Functional Support

  • Maintain benefit-related data within HRIS systems.
  • Provide reporting and analytics related to benefits participation and costs.
  • Partner with Payroll to ensure accurate deductions and adjustments.
  • Provide backup payroll support when required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 35 years of experience in benefits administration.
  • Strong knowledge of health and welfare plan administration and retirement programs.
  • Working with and knowledge of ERISA, COBRA, ACA, HIPAA, and related regulations.
  • Experience with HRIS systems and payroll integration.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office Suite.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional certifications such as CEBS, SHRM-CP, or PHR are a plus.

Personal & Professional Attributes

  • Strong customer-service orientation and ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion and integrity.
  • Highly organized with strong follow-through skills.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Collaborative team player who builds positive working relationships.
