Position Summary

The Field Safety Technician (FST) is a hands-on, field-based role that supports RAWSOs safety and operational goals on active jobsites. This position is ideal for someone who wants to build a career in construction safety, providing consistent field presence and partnering with Superintendents, Foremen, and the Safety Director to reinforce a proactive, compliant safety culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Support and drive RAWSOs safety culture across multiple heavy civil projects in Middle Tennessee
• Conduct regular jobsite safety audits, inspections, and observations; coach crews and leaders in real time
• Assist Foremen and Superintendents with pre-task planning, JHAs / JSAs, and daily safety huddles
• Lead and support incident and near-miss investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action follow-up
• Coordinate and deliver safety training, onboarding / orientation, and toolbox talks
• Maintain accurate safety documentation, including inspection reports, training records, and regulatory logs
• Monitor compliance with OSHA Construction standards and company safety policies, recommending improvements
• Help ensure safe use of heavy equipment, excavation / trenching, traffic control, and other high-risk activities
