Description
The Director of Production serves as the Video Production Team lead and principal developer of digital video and multimedia content for Alaska Public Media (AKPM). Responsibilities include oversight of the AKPM television studio, production master control, editing software, field production equipment, video graphic art design and implementation, production of promotional / informational spots, and managing technical aspects of live and / or live to digital file television studio production.
Alaska Public Media (AKPM) is a broad-based public media organization that delivers television, radio, and web content. AKPM is the source of PBS television, NPR radio, and stewards the statewide AKPM News network.
Essential Functions
- Oversee and manage the video production of AKPM original content.
- Supervise Video Production Team
- Manage all on-air branding and video marketing materials in coordination with the Chief
- Content Officer, Chief Development Officer, and Brand Manager.
- Managing Producer for Indie Alaska and main liaison with PBS Digital Studios.
- Managing Producer for AKPM content projects i.e. workforce development initiative.
- Manage and delegate Production Requests from other AKPM Departments. This includes but not limited to corporate support, proof of performance videos, event promotion, field shoots, and edits.
- Manage and cultivate creative services contracts with organizations and vendors for production and editing services using the AKPM Rate Card
- Serve as videographer and editor for AKPM original content and other special projects as required or assigned.
- Develop and / or supervise creative multimedia / video content for AKPM website, YouTube channels, AKPM social media platforms, PBS Digital Products, and on-air AKPM branding elements and other special projects in coordination with the Chief Content Officer.
