Job description

We are looking for  Sewing Machine Operators  (industrial preferred) to operate machinery in our manufacturing facility.

Will be part of a team producing apparel and / or leather gloves for the industrial and utility industry.

This is a full-time (Monday - Friday 8 hour shifts) position with full benefits and a starting salary of $17.50 / hour with additional earning potential.

Must have sewing experience.

A great machine operator is reliable and able to work with attention to detail and safety standards.

On the job training is a good way to discover how to do the job better, so you should have willingness to learn and improve.

General machine operating knowledge is a must; re-threading machine and replacing needles.

Reports To :

  • Area Supervisor Direct Reports :   None FLSA Status :   Non-Exempt Employment Type :   Full-Time  Position Overview :   Meet or exceed quality and productivity standards for each assignment.  Contribute to a safe, clean work environment and perform all tasks as required in the assigned department.

Essential Job Functions :

  • Produce specified product to required specifications using proper methods.
  • Operate equipment safely and utilize methods to ensure safe operation.
  • Inspect work to ensure that the machine is operating correctly, and that each product is made according to specifications.
  • Adhere to company quality standards and procedures.
  • Contact supervisor as needed.
  • Strive for perfect attendance.  Ensure attendance points do not exceed those allowed in the attendance policy.
  • Non-Essential Job Functions :

  • Establish and maintain a good working relationship with leaders and peers.
  • Maintain a positive outlook and a high level of enthusiasm.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.
  • Training :

  • Necessary training will be provided on the job.
  • Qualifications :

  • Education & Certifications :  High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Experience :

  • 1 year in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Key Competencies :

  • Initiative Achievement Orientation Analytical Thinking Self Confidence Teamwork Physical Requirements :   Must be able to sit  for duration of day and walk frequently.

  • Temperature-regulated plant environment and consistent background machine noise.
