Class Description
The purpose of this class is to manage the acquisition of classes and commodities and services through the competitive solicitation process, informal quote process, intergovernmental cooperative purchase agreements and State and local government contracts.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's Degree and three years of related experience or Associate's Degree and five years of related experience required, such as : preparing and conducting solicitations, evaluating bids and proposals, knowledge of and compliance with procurement rules and regulations; knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office applications and financial management systems. Applied Purchasing Professional (APP), Certified Public Purchasing Buyer (CPPB), Certified Public Purchasing Officer (CPPO) or Certified Purchasing Manager (CMO) preferred.
Class Specific Essential Duties
- Develop and manage the solicitation process for commodities and services.
- Review and approve purchase requisitions in accordance to the limit established by College policy.
- Review and evaluate competitive quote documentation.
- Act as a liaison between College community and vendors.
- Manage service contracts for performance, renewal and / or extension.
- Conduct bid openings, pre-proposal meetings and evaluation committee meetings.

Tuition Assistance
Eligible full-time employees may qualify for waiver or reimbursement programs. McDaniel College has extended its Educator's Legacy Scholarship (ELS) program to CCBC benefits-eligible employees. CCBC is among the inaugural community college partners.
Children of ANY current full-time benefits-eligible CCBC employee with at least four years of continuous full-time employment are eligible to receive a scholarship valued at up to $100,000 over four (4) years.
