We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Purchasing Agent to join our team in the Engineering industry. This role will play a pivotal part in our operations by ensuring that our procurement processes run smoothly and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of sourcing, demand planning, purchase orders, and cost reduction strategies. With a minimum of 3 years of experience under their belt, the successful applicant will bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our team.

Responsibilities :

As a Purchasing Agent, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to :

1. Managing and overseeing the purchasing activities of the company, ensuring that all processes are carried out in accordance with company policies and procedures.

2. Developing and implementing strategic sourcing strategies to secure cost-effective deals and suppliers.

3. Preparing and processing purchase orders in a timely manner, and following up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.

4. Conducting market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their offerings in terms of quality, price, and reliability.

5. Analyzing and forecasting demand to ensure that the company has the necessary materials and supplies to meet its operational needs.

6. Identifying opportunities for cost reduction and implementing strategies to realize these savings.

7. Negotiating contracts with suppliers to secure advantageous terms and conditions.

8. Collaborating with internal stakeholders to determine their product and service needs, and finding the best ways to meet these needs.

9. Monitoring and evaluating supplier performance to ensure that they meet their contractual obligations.

10. Keeping abreast of market trends, changes in business practices in the assigned markets, new or altered types of materials entering the market, etc.

Qualifications :

The successful candidate for the Permanent Purchasing Agent position must possess the following qualifications :

1. A minimum of 3 years of experience in a purchasing role.

2. Proven experience with sourcing, demand planning, purchase orders, and cost reduction strategies.

3. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to secure advantageous terms.

4. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to create and process financial spreadsheets.

5. Strong knowledge of market research, data analysis, and procurement best practices.

6. Working knowledge of MS Office Suite and purchasing software.

7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

8. Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

9. Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field.

10. Professional certification in supply chain management or procurement is a plus.
