Purchasing Supervisor

The iconic Roosevelt New Orleans is seeking a full-time Purchasing Supervisor to join our Finance team. Our legendary property blends Southern hospitality with world-class service and historic charm. Located steps from the French Quarter, we feature 504 guest rooms, over 60,000 sq. ft. of meeting space, and five food & beverage outletsincluding two restaurants, a caf, a seasonal rooftop bar, and in-room dining. This role is ideal for a motivated individual with strong organizational skills and a desire to grow within Hospitality and Finance. The Purchasing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing storeroom operations, supervising storeroom clerks, and managing all receiving for the hotel. This role ensures accuracy, organization, and compliance with purchasing standards and supports Finance, Culinary, and F&B operations.

Dotted-Line To : Food & Beverage and Culinary

Schedule : TuesdaySaturday (with flexibility to cover Mondays as needed)

Rate of Pay : $23 / hour

Receiving & Storeroom Operations

Supervise storeroom clerks and oversee all hotel-wide receiving.

Receive all purchase orders (POs) in SmartSpend; train and support team members on system use.

Maintain a clean, organized loading dock and storeroom work area; work is performed primarily at the dock office.

Weigh products purchased by the pound (poultry, beef, pork, fish) to ensure accuracy.

Inspect all products upon receipt; complete temperature logs and process returns immediately when quality standards are not met.

Communicate rejected items to Culinary leadership immediately for reorder and vendor follow-up.

Route deliveries to proper locations (banquets, kitchens, storage areas, liquor room).

Ensure all items are stored correctly and promptly in appropriate temperature-controlled areas.

Maintain organization of all storage spaces, including coolers, freezers, dry storage, and liquor room.

Enforce FIFO standards, proper labeling, and product rotation.

Complete daily requisitions and deliver to outlets and kitchens.

Take daily photos of loading dock areas and submit to leadership before departure.

Financial & Administrative Tasks

Assist with month-end responsibilities, including invoice reconciliation and beverage inventory (12 days / month).

Manage the Finance purchasing checkbook.

Serve as the property "Super Spender" in SmartSpend and train new users.

Support monthly inventories across departments, including Gift Shop and F&B.

Adhere to Time & Attendance policies; time-off requests must be pre-approved by the DOF and communicated to key leaders.

Communication & Coordination

Maintain daily communication with the Executive Chef and Director of Food & Beverage regarding operational priorities.

Hold bi-weekly meetings with DOF, ADOF, DF&B, or Executive Chef; if a meeting cannot occur, provide weekly operational updates and reschedule for the following week.

Partner with Stewarding and Overnight Cleaning teams to maintain cleanliness of loading dock and storage areas.
