Discover your purpose and fuel your passions when you bring your love of pets to a team that prides itself on the power of togetherness-We are Proudly Connected. Purely Driven.

POSITION SUMMARY

In addition to its 300 days of annual sunshine, breathtaking scenery, and reputation for some of the country's best brews, Denver ranks among the top 10 in Forbes' 'Best cities for dogs 2024' list. We are honored to have a strong presence in this mile-high city, as we have been operating here since 1930. Initially focused on producing livestock feed, the plant transitioned into a pet food-only manufacturer in 1972. Notably, our Denver location became the first-ever pet food factory to harness the power of solar energy. We take great pride in doing our part to care for the environment, like conserving water, investing in renewable electricity and maintaining zero waste for disposal. We currently produce 260,134 tons annually of Dog Chow®, Cat Chow®, Kit n Kaboodle®, Alpo®, Beneful®, Nestl Purina ONE Beyond®, Nestl Purina ONE®, and Pro Plan® .

In a typical 24-hour production cycle, we conduct 30,000 documented quality checks involving ingredient / packaging, receiving, processing, and packing. That's how much we care. Not only is Nestl Purina an industry leader and at the cutting edge of pet food innovations that are revolutionizing the business, we've set the gold standard in quality assurance. We're backed by a Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, but more significantly, we're grounded in a strong values system of developing high-quality products with unconditional integrity, passion, expertise, performance, and innovation.

As the Factory Quality Technician, you will perform multiple chemical tests of finished product samples and escalate tests when needed. You will be responsible for the raw material coverage during periods where an ingredient specialist is not available. You will also be responsible for ensuring all non-conforming finished product is placed on quality hold to prevent shipment to our customers.

  • Perform physical, and sensory tests on finished products collected from the dry pet packing room accurately and precisely.
  • Responsible for the proper use and maintenance of lab equipment including the maintenance, cleaning, and calibration.
  • Work as a team with other lab associates to achieve shift, department, and factory objectives.
  • Assist in preparation for compliance audits
  • Follow laboratory practices and lab safety manual guidelines.

Requirements

  • 1+ years in a quality setting in a manufacturing, production, warehouse, military or related environment
  • The approximate pay range for this position is $51,100 to $62,129. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
