General Summary
The Quality Control Technician is responsible for sampling, testing, and inspecting construction materials or elements in a field setting to ensure compliance with the supplier and / or owner specifications.
Essential Job Accountabilities
- Tests and inspects products at various stages of production process; compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products.
- Obtain and maintain certifications as required to perform testing.
- Maintain thorough understanding of specifications, testing and reporting requirements.
- Ability to communicate and schedule QC activities with crew and supervision.
- Ability to interpret specifications and discuss with crew and supervision.
- Ability to make decisions based on knowledge of specifications and testing requirements.
- Collect, prepare and test construction material samples, interpret test results and distribute information to crews and personnel.
- Maintain all QC logbooks and reports in accordance with specifications.
- Follow all OSHA and MSHA regulations to perform duties in a safe manner.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Perform other duties as required.
