Job description

Job Description

Job Description

BIOFerm™ is looking for a Quality Control Engineer to ensure its renewable energy projects meet the company’s standards for safety, performance, and reliability. This position oversees quality processes throughout design, fabrication, construction, and commissioning phases. The ideal candidate has strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and experience implementing quality management systems within engineering or construction environments.

BIOFerm™, a renewable energy company, is currently looking for a Quality Control Engineer. BIOFerm™ provides turnkey anaerobic digestion and gas upgrading facilities. Committed to sustainable and economical organic waste diversion, BIOFerm™’s digester technology harnesses biogas from fermenting organics—food waste, manure, biosolids, etc.—and converts it into valuable green energy, vehicle fuel, heat and organic products. Its gas upgrading systems enable biogas producers to profitably upgrade biogas to renewable natural gas (RNG).

Key Responsibilities :

  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality control procedures and inspection plans for engineering, fabrication, and construction activities.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and project documents to ensure compliance with design standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct inspections and quality audits on materials, equipment, and workmanship at vendor facilities and job sites.
  • Track and document inspection results, nonconformance reports, and corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to resolve quality issues in a timely manner.
  • Verify that subcontractors and suppliers meet BIOFerm’s quality and safety standards.
  • Support the commissioning process and verify that systems perform in accordance with project requirements.
  • Maintain calibration and testing records for inspections.
  • Provide training and guidance to project staff and contractors on quality expectations and procedures.
  • Prepare quality documentation for client handover, including inspection records and test reports.
  • Continuously improve QA / QC processes to enhance project efficiency and reliability.
  • Travel to fabrication shops, vendor locations, and project sites as needed.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Competencies & Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience in quality assurance / quality control within construction, manufacturing, or renewable energy sectors.
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings, specifications, and industry standards (ASME, ASTM, AWS, etc.).
  • Experience with quality management systems (ISO 9001 or equivalent).
  • Proficiency in inspection techniques, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with project management or document control software (e.g., Autodesk Build).
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to travel and work at job sites as required.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license.
  • Valid authorization to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship.
  • Compensation & Benefits :

Compensation is based on experience and is competitive. BIOFerm™ offers a comprehensive benefits package.

To be considered for this position, please submit your cover letter, resume, and salary requirements.
