Overview

The Continuous Improvement Specialist will support SGWS’s key vision on driving value to customers and suppliers while eliminating nonvalue added activities. In this opportunity, you will play a pivotal role in creating a lean culture, establishing a one best way in our Supply Chain Operations, and maximizing cost opportunities through internal and external benchmarking.

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead Process Improvement on critical issues with lean / six sigma tools such as 5S, root cause analysis, time and motion studies, across our warehouse and transportation network.
• Assist with the tactical deployment of the CI program methodology. Manage project execution of top losses in the functional areas and assist in building the capability of the organization at a national level.
• Develop and implement new or improved supply chain processes and systems.
• Work with the data science team to map, establish and track key process metrics, to provide automated visibility to leaders across our network.
• Conduct Value Stream Mapping Workshops to identify critical losses in current processes and / or to define new ways of working to achieve on time and in full deliveries to our customers.
• Develop change management tools and organizational assessments to promote new platform / technology adoption.
• Ensure improvements are sustained through time and deploy best practices across the network.
• Support development opportunities for the divisions by delivering best in class training; mentoring; tracking skills development; providing recognition; and ensuring diversity awareness.
• Coordinates, completes, and oversees job-related activities and assignments by developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders; supporting plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs; identifying and communicating goals and objectives; building accountability for and measuring progress in achieving results; identifying and addressing improvement opportunities; and demonstrating adaptability and promoting continuous learning.
