Position Summary
The Surgery Radiologic Technologist produces high quality diagnostic imaging during sterile surgical procedures in the surgical suite. Ability to provide equipment set up for all specific protocols. Must be able to communicate appropriately in a highly stressful environment. Maintains a sterile environment during surgical procedures, and maintains patient safety at all times. Demonstrates the care and operation of fluoroscopic equipment according to technical specification and applications.
Essential Job Functions / Accountabilities
Produces high quality fluoroscopic images with minimal patient exposure. Following ALARA standards. Ensures that safety devices such as shielding, and fluoroscopic dose are utilized properly during procedures.
Maintains proper operation of radiology equipment, and following proper cleaning protocols. Competent with all Radiology Surgical equipment, and appropriate set up.
Verification of proper surgical procedure prior to equipment set up, and operation. Processes Radiology imaging requests, and all documents in RIS and PACs systems. Must understand the concepts of sterile techniques.
Answers patients' general questions. Answers telephone calls. Provides back-up coverage and assists in daily / nightly office routine when needed in other areas. Must be able to recognize emergent situations and act promptly and appropriately based on needs. Assessment of equipment errors, contacts appropriate Vendor for service and maintains proper equipment logs.
All other duties not specifically assigned.
Position Requirements
Education : Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
Experience : Three (3) to Five (5) years of demonstrated experience in field or profession required; Prior Radiologic Surgical Fluoroscopic experience preferred.
Technical Skills : Knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology, Medical Terminology, and Sterile Techniques.
Certifications / Licenses / Registrations : Registered technologist through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists; Licensed in the State of Ohio. BLS required.
Requirements
Schedule : Weekday Monday - Friday - 20 hours per week
