Healthcare Setting :Qualifications, Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements :
- 2-3 years of experience as Radiologic Technician
- Associate’s degree in radiologic technology from an accredited school
- Valid state Radiologic Technologist license
- Registered Radiologic Technologist (RT) with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Current BLS for Healthcare Provider CPR or CPR / AED for the Professional Rescuer certification
- Clean background check and clean drug screen

- Provides information to diagnose patient illnesses by operating radiologic equipment to produce radiographs.
- Identifies patient service requirements by establishing a personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons in a position to understand service requirements.
- Ensures operation of radiology equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer’s instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, calling for repairs, maintaining equipment inventories, and evaluating new equipment and techniques.
- Complies with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; and advising management on needed actions.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Gains patient cooperation by reducing anxieties, providing explanations of treatment, and answering questions.
- Prepares patient for radiological procedure by positioning patient, adjusting immobilization devices, moving equipment into a specified position, and adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors.
- Minimizes radiation to patient and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques, using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding, and knowledge of exposure factors.
- Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols; following drug protocols in case of reactions to drugs, such as contrast media; and administering first aid and using the emergency cart.
- Maintains production and quality of radiographs by following established standards and procedures, developing radiographs, observing radiographic results, and making necessary adjustments.
- Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Conducting ultrasound examinations on patients as prescribed by physicians or other healthcare providers.
- Operating ultrasound equipment to obtain high-quality images of the specified body parts or organs.
- Communicating with patients to explain the procedure, address concerns, and ensure their comfort during the examination.
- Obtaining relevant medical history and information to assist in the diagnostic process
- Traveling to various healthcare facilities, clinics, or patients' homes to perform mobile ultrasound services. This may involve working in different locations on a regular basis.
- Ensuring proper maintenance and calibration of ultrasound equipment to guarantee accurate and reliable imaging results.
- Troubleshooting equipment issues and performing basic repairs or reporting technical problems to appropriate personnel.
- Following established protocols and guidelines for ultrasound procedures to maintain consistency and accuracy in diagnostic imaging.
- Adhering to safety protocols to minimize risks and ensure a safe environment for both patients and staff.
- Recording and documenting the ultrasound findings, measurements, and other relevant information in patient records or information systems.
- Collaborating with physicians, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to interpret ultrasound images and provide diagnostic information.
- Discussing findings with medical staff to assist in patient care decisions.
- Ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, privacy laws, and institutional policies related to patient care and data security.
