Job Description :

National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. (NRSS) is seeking a full-time Technical Trainer - Rail to conduct new hire training classes for a Class 1 partner. A full travel commitment for 4-8 weeks at a time is required. You will be requested to travel to various training locations in the United States.

Required Education :

Bachelor's Degree in Railroad Engineering, Railroad Design, Railroad Construction, Communication and / or Education (Preferred).

Equivalent combination of technical training and / or related experience.

Required Experience :

Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in Railroad Operations, Operating Rules, Training and Development, and / or Education (Class 1 Preferred).

Job Requirements :

  • Qualified applicants must have an RCO (Remote Control Operators) license.
  • Proven experience as an instructor in both classroom and field training.
  • Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office products.
  • Advanced computer skills in Citrix Applications.
  • Demonstrated team building and verbal / oral skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail required; well organized.
  • Strong technical knowledge in Railroad Engineering, Railroad Design, Railroad Construction, and Safety.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Job Duties :

  • Provide various technical classroom training programs primarily focused in the transportation department.
  • Provide various technical on the job training programs primarily focused in the transportation department.
  • Direct, develop, and evaluate training materials using accepted railroad industry methodologies.
  • Provide quality instruction and maintain quality records for internal and / or external clients.
  • Assist the safety department with service excellence through document creation, conference calls, auditing, etc.
  • Identify and manage tasks as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Work Environment :
