Summary
This role is responsible for providing daily support for rail operations for North America which encompasses the movement of railroad supplied cars and the management of a private fleet. Daily support for rail operations includes managing rail car flows in / out of plants, in / out of storage, handling customer inquiries, processing rail equipment transactions, and collaborating with sales, planning and plant team members. The Rail Logistics Specialist will provide back up for the Rail Logistics Manager to ensure daily coverage.
Essential Job Functions include, but are not limited to the following :

- Manage car movements to / from storage, diversions, maintenance, overages, claims and other atypical car flows such as bad orders, mis-routes & expedited cars.
- Process rail invoices for all spend categories ensuring timely payment of invoices.
- Back up to Rail Logistics Manager as needed.
- Generate an integrated car flow status report daily.
- Support track and trace requests.
- Acquire rail rates and provide to internal customers.
- Point of contact for Rail shipping transaction support on inquiries from plant or customers.
- Work with rail site tools to assist in operational tasks.
- Provide feedback and participate in quarterly fleet reviews.
- Reconcile freight exceptions and process disputes.
- Perform other related duties as required.
