Overview
Colliers Engineering & Design is looking for a Railroad Bridge Project Manager to join our Rail Engineering team in NY, working out of our Albany, Rochester, or Buffalo office.
In this role, you will plan, design, and direct assigned projects, and / or to assist the Department Manager with all facets of rail engineering products. Offering a full range of rail planning, design and engineering services to Class 1, short line, transit agencies, departments of transportation and other rail clients, our expertise ranges from preliminary planning and feasibility studies through final design and construction inspection. This includes service for rail freight, intercity passenger rail, commuter rail and industrial installations. Our rail and transit experts bring broad industry expertise to every project and have extensive experience in the Class 1 and short line freight railroad environment and provide engineering and design for commuter rail, light rail, bus transit and para-transit operations.
As a Bridge Project Manager in Rail, you will bring experience working directly with ownership of clients on projects ranging from local to federal. The successful candidate will be able to oversee project deliverables, build & maintain relationships with current and future clients, and mentor & support junior engineering & project management staff. Responsibilities
- Ensure the success of the projects under his / her management (including planning, quality assurance, deadlines, and financial aspects).
- The selected candidate will work in the Infrastructure Department (Rail Discipline) on various projects including new or rehabilitated bridges, culverts, and associated site work.
- Fulfill client manager role for clients in his / her own discipline and market for other disciplines.
- Prepare proposals (assumptions, scope of work, budget, etc.) as appropriate.
- Prepare and negotiate project contract, terms, and conditions as appropriate.
- May provide direct supervision to staff, including goal setting, evaluation, and professional development.
- Close coordination with your engineering peers in the highway / traffic, construction inspection and water resource divisions.
- Occasional field work and bridge inspection duties may be required.
Qualifications
Compensation : $109k to $147k per year (depending on qualifications)
