The Process Engineer is responsible for providing process engineering support in a high mix, high technology SMT Contract manufacturing environment. Ensures Customer product costs, quality, and reliability goals are achieved for Mack Technologies Florida, Inc. Reports to the Engineering Manager. (100% onsite)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Generate pre and post DFM analyses to enhance customer designs for manufacturability, reliability, quality, and cost.
Develop manufacturing and rework processes to deliver consistently high product quality and reliability.
Work with Operations team to continually improve process improvements, yields and efficiency.
Generate process documentation and work instruction packages to document manufacturing requirements.
Support all production efforts to ensure world-class DPMO levels are achieved.
Support continuous process improvement through participation in quality reviews.
Assist in implementation of lean manufacturing.
Create packaging and packaging instructions.
Review and implement customer Engineering Change Orders.
Act as technical representative to the Customer Satisfaction Team.
Support internal efforts for customer and internal corrective action requests.
Provide support to the Operations group with capacity planning, process development, and cycle time reduction initiatives.
Support MRB analysis and disposition of non-conforming material processes.
Perform equipment evaluations as required.
Participate in quality team meetings as required.
Occasional travel between Mack, customer, or supplier facilities.
Maintain ESD integrity within production environment.
Responsible for the cleanliness of work area and surrounding work space.
Responsible for the accuracy of work-in-process.
Participate in additional training as required.
May train other employees.
Other responsibilities as directed and necessary for the business.
Qualifications
Bachelors in electrical, mechanical or industrial engineering; 5 + years of experience in quality, process, and / or supplier engineering; or 10-15 years in lieu of a degree.
Must have 5 + years of experience in the electronics industry, specifically SMT and Box Build for a PCB manufacturing site supporting both military and commercial products. .
PMP, and six sigma green / black belt a plus.
Experience in project management / planning preferred.
Must possess strong technical knowledge, surface mount equipment and engineering expertise in circuit card manufacturing for medium to complex assemblies in a high mix / low volume environment.
Knowledge of statistics and statistical methods.
Strong computer skills with a focus in DraftSight, Master Control, MS Office, Valor and GC Preview / Preview Plus.
Knowledge and use of an ERP system.
Understanding of basic electro-mechanical tools (multi-meters, calipers, etc.) and basic hand tools (wrench, torque drivers etc.).
Ability to interpret detailed drawings, schematics and diagrams.
Ability to design creative manufacturing and process solutions that meet both the company and customer goals concurrently.
Strong problem-solving skills with experience in root-cause analysis.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interfacing internally and externally with customers and suppliers on technical matters.
Knowledge of ISO9001 Quality System / manufacturing requirements.
Willingness to work flexible hours as necessary.
