A porter / receiver is responsible for maintaining the over cleanliness and organization of the restaurant. You will also serve as the first line of defense towards our mission of serving high quality product to our guests.
Duties & Responsibilities :
Receive and store incoming product
Check all incoming product for freshness and over all quality
Match invoices to product received making sure were credited for any missing or returned products.
Prepare the restaurant for opening with following the provided checklist
Keep the dish machine clean and report any functional or mechanical problems immediately.
Monitor dish machine water temperature to ensure sanitary wash cycle.
Keep dish-room clean and organized.
Clean food preparation and production areas as required.
Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager.
Responsible for basic in house repairs including occasional installs of minor fixtures or painting
Complete maintenance and deep cleaning task as listed on schedule
Assist with the occasional moving of furniture as needed
Promptly report faulty equipment or food quality issues to the chef
Basic understanding of how to use equipment necessary to complete necessary task, i.e. Power drill, screwdriver, snake, dishwasher etc.
Qualifications :
Able to lift up to 60lbs
Basic carpentry and handyman skills
Must be able to communicate with management staff
Certified with local health department
Be able to work in hot, wet, humid, and loud environment for long periods of time.
Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
Be able to safely lift bags, cases and stacks weighing up to 60 pounds.
