Patient Services Coordinator

The UNM Medical Group, Inc. is seeking a full-time Patient Services Coordinator to join our Primary Care Clinic. This opportunity is a full-time day shift opening located in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. The shift is Monday - Friday | 7:30am - 4:30pm. Preferred: At least two years of experience in health insurance eligibility and benefits verification. Minimum $36,399 - Midpoint $44,754* Salary is determined based on years of total relevant experience. Salary is based on 1.0 FTE (full time equivalent) or 40 hours per week. Less than 40 hours/week will be prorated and adjusted to the appropriate FTE. The work schedule is Monday - Friday.

Summary:

• Performs a variety of administrative support functions at a UNMMG Ambulatory Clinic, including scheduling appointments, receptionist duties, and verifying demographic and insurance information.
• Manages referrals and prior authorizations with insurance carriers, ensuring smooth patient service.
• Assists with patient concerns and complaints, acting as a liaison between patients, physicians, and other providers.

Minimum Job Requirements for an Ambulatory Patient Services Coordinator:

High school diploma or GED. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirements may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. Verification of education and licensure (if applicable) will be required if selected for hire.

About the Grande Primary Care Clinic:

UNM Medical Group has opened a new Primary Care Clinic for the Rio Rancho community in the summer of 2021. The UNM Health Grande Clinic focuses on providing the local community their non-emergency medical needs.
