Receptionist

PRIMARY PURPOSE :  To operate multi-position telephone switchboard; and to greet and direct visitors.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Receives all non-DID incoming calls.
  • Directs calls to appropriate individuals or department after obtaining adequate information.
  • Displays professional courtesy at all times.
  • Maintains a customer service attitude.
  • Attendance during scheduled work hours is required.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • QUALIFICATIONS

    Education & Licensing

    High school diploma or GED required.

    Experience

    Six (6) months receptionist and / or switchboard experience or equivalent combination of experience and education preferred.

    Skills & Knowledge

  • Excellent oral and written communication, including presentation skills
  • PC literate, including Microsoft Office products
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to meet or exceed Performance Competencies
  • WORK ENVIRONMENT

    Mental :  Clear and conceptual thinking ability; excellent judgment and discretion; ability to handle work-related stress; ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously; and ability to meet deadlines

    Physical :  Computer keyboarding, travel as required
