Part-time Faculty Positions
DePaul University invites expressions of interest for a pool of qualified Part Time Faculty to teach courses in a variety of disciplines across all 10 colleges and schools. Individuals may enter expressions of interest by submitting their credentials to any posting for which they are qualified to teach. Postings are organized by college / school and department. Screening of individuals in the pool is ongoing, depending on curricular need and funding. Individuals will be contacted by the department if they reach the finalist stage for teaching a particular course or set of courses. The pool will remain in place until the closing date specified in the posting details; those interested in remaining in the pool beyond that time must resubmit. All individuals in the pool will be notified by email when the posting is closed.

Responsibilities : .indent-list ul {list-style-position : inside;}The DePaul University School of Music seeks a dynamic, innovative recording engineer / educator to be the next Director of DePaul's Sound Recording Technology (SRT) program, one of the premier audio programs in the country. We offer an opportunity to assume leadership of a program that is featured prominently in the School's new Strategic Plan, to be implemented beginning in 2025.This is a tenure-track position at the rank of assistant or associate professor, depending on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
The Director’s responsibilities include oversight and adaptation of the curriculum; teaching much of the core coursework and coordinating adjunct faculty; strategizing with our Admissions and Marketing team to increase enrollment of qualified students by 30% within 5 years; collaborating with Music Education faculty on our new SRT Music Education track; working with the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs in the scheduling of SRT classes; and reviewing applications to the program. The Director works closely with the Production and Facilities staff to schedule and maintain the SRT suite.
Instructional responsibilities include teaching audio theory; organizing and supervising recording sessions with students; and creating compelling recording experiences that enhance student learning.
Applicants should be prepared to teach :
- Signal flow and analog consoles
- Digital Audio Workstations, digital audio theory and signal processing
- Microphones and microphone recording techniques
- Film and television audio post-production
- Basics of immersive audio

Facilities : The School's Holtschneider Performance Center (HPC) recording suite is an exceptional facility with two control rooms, a two-story tracking space with a vocal booth, two post-production editing rooms, and tie lines to two spectacular concert halls. HPC itself is a well-designed, state-of-the-art, 185,000 sq.ft. facility completed in 2018.
