As a Recreation Therapy Aid, you will play a vital role in providing support and services to youth and families participating in our recreation therapy programs. Collaborating closely with Mental Health Professionals and Certified Therapeutic Recreational Specialists, you'll assist in facilitating a diverse range of activities, including arts & crafts, sports, dance, games, cooking, music, outdoor activities, outings and more. Your contribution will be instrumental in fostering mental, emotional, social and physical wellbeing among participants. By joining this dedicated team of professionals, you'll actively contribute to advancing overall wellness. This position is a regular part-time benefitted role (20 hours / week) with increased hours during spring, summer and winter breaks to support recreation therapy camps.

How to Qualify :

• Minimum High School diploma or equivalent; obtaining or currently possessing a bachelors degree in a relevant field preferred.
• Experience in planning, scheduling, and facilitating group recreational and leisure activities.
• Ability to obtain challenge course certification as needed to maintain and facilitate onsite challenge course activities.
• Ability to work with a diverse population of staff and clients.
• Minimum one year of experience working or volunteering directly with youth; prior experience in mental health field preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make ethical and safe decisions.
• Ability to manage individual stress and perform essential job functions; safely and professionally.
• Must be 21 years or older
• Ability to pass a criminal background check, per organizational standards.
• Valid drivers license and acceptable driving record, per organizational standards.New employees with out-of-state licenses must obtain a Washington State Drivers License within 30 days of employment
