Alaris Health at Kearny, a 120 bed-skilled nursing Center in Kearny, New Jersey, seeks a Recreation Therapist to plan, organize and direct resident activity programs, which may include varied an diversified programming for different cognitive levels of resident function from Wii competitions to bingo to coffee carts and everything in between. Additional responsibilities include :
- assisting in planning and promoting recreation based on individualized needs and interests and encouraging participation and engagement
- visiting bed-bound residents and non-participants and providing appropriate recreation services for them
- assisting with the daily radio program, monthly newsletter and recreation calendar
- assisting with volunteer program / appreciation set-up, admission assessments, clinical responsibilities and community interaction programs
- and above all, ensuring that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere that recognizes each individual’s needs and rights
