Position Summary
The Staff RN is responsible for implementing, directing, communicating and documenting the nursing process and provides a safe environment for patients, visitors and associates.
Job Responsibilities
- Documents a physical assessment each shift including subjective / objective data.
- Communicates with patients, families and / or significant others in an effort to individualize patient's plan of care to them.
- Verifies that physician's orders are transcribed properly and carried out promptly.
- Reports significant changes in patient's condition to unit manager / charge nurse / shift supervisor and / or physician.
- Continuously evaluates patient's responses to plan of care, teaching plans and rehabilitation activities throughout hospitalization and upon discharge.
- ASN or BSN from an accredited school of nursing.
- Currently licensed as a RN by the State of Indiana Health Professions Bureau.
- Obtains and maintains current certification in BLS, and other required certificates in specialty areas.
