Professional Affairs Contract Engagement Specialist

Smith & NephewMemphis, TN, United States
Job description

Life Unlimited. At Smith+Nephew we design and manufacture technology that takes the limits off living!

In this role, you will report to the Senior Manager of Professional Affairs, Americas, serving as a key liaison between Smith & Nephew and healthcare professional (HCP) consultants.

You will collaborate with teams across Medical Education, Marketing, Research & Development, Clinical, Legal, and Compliance to facilitate consultant engagements. You will be responsible for leading consultant activities, coordinating the development and execution of Statements of Work (SOWs), and ensuring all engagements align with company policies and industry regulations.

What will you be doing?

As a Contract Engagement Specialist, you will serve as the first point of contact between healthcare professional (HCP) consultants and various departments, addressing questions and inquiries related to Statements of Work (SOWs) and activity descriptions. You will collaborate closely with Marketing, Medical Education, Clinical Affairs, and Research & Innovation to support the detailed planning of HCP consultant activities, assisting teams with HCP Engagement Platform inquiries and activity development.

You will handle consultants and their engagements, ensuring accurate time allotments and supervising the content of activities and events. You will proactively connect with activity owners to facilitate the development and utilization of activities within the HCP Engagement Platform. Compliance will be a key aspect of your responsibilities, as you perform all duties in alignment with Professional Affairs policies, the Office of Compliance & Ethics guidelines, and the company's Code of Conduct.

You will demonstrate expertise in preparing HCP consultant Statements of Work, ensuring accurate rationale for consultant selection, appropriate hourly allotments, and adherence to compliance standards. Additionally, you will conduct training sessions for new and existing consultants, familiarizing them with Smith & Nephew's processes, documentation requirements, contract terms, and results. Your solid understanding of company policies, Standard Operating Procedures, the AdvaMed Code, and state and federal regulations will allow you to optimally communicate relevant policies and requirements as needed.

In addition to these core responsibilities, you will participate in various tasks assigned by the Senior Manager of Professional Affairs, Americas, contributing to continuous process improvement and execution.

What will you need to be successful?

You will need to be based, preferably, in Memphis, TN or alternatively, Austin, TX or Andover, MA and will need a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Health Care Administration, or Data Analysis-or equivalent work experience in a related field. While no specific licenses or certifications are required, you should have 3-5 years of proven experience in data entry using Excel system formats, preferably with a focus on finance, accounting, or data analysis. Your ability to lead and analyze data accurately and efficiently will be necessary to success in this role.
