Job summary: Responsible for the hour management of the assigned unit assuring patient care meets the standard of care.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Competent in the care of patients within the specialty area. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care/service appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned unit/department
- Demonstrates competence in assessing patient care/staffing situations, priorities and needs. Coordinates and supervises patient care
- Orients staff, provides continuing education and competency evaluation to staff in department regarding specialized knowledge and skills necessary for proficient practice in the clinical setting. Guides staff learning in order to enhance team performance. Maintains documentation of these activities. Ensures staff participation in in-service programs.
- Creates and maintains employee schedules. Monitors staff attendance to policy and coaches/counsels accordingly

About Universal Health Services:
Qualifications - Current NV Registered Nurse Licensure.
- Current BLS certification.
- Current ACLS (if assigned to telemetry or surgical services)
- Current NRP certification
- Current Stable certification
- Minimum of three (3) years clinical experience and a minimum of two (2) years progressive management experience preferred
