Budget Analyst

Location : Columbus, OH (Hybrid – 3 days in-office, 2 days remote)

Job Summary :

This position provides accounting support to the various department, handling bookkeeping, monthly close, data entry, customer service, and general business system functions. Responsibilities include coordinating multiple spending projects, tracking allocation changes, forecasting, and working closely with project managers to ensure spending targets are met.

The role involves managing a complex financial tracking stream, requiring the ability to assess current processes and propose improvements. Primary tools used include MS Excel, MS Power Suite (including Power BI), and Outlook.

Key Responsibilities :

• Update, verify, and correct automated bookkeeping for contract work assignments.

Perform month-end financial close tasks, including accrual entries and compliance checks.

Reconcile transactions against the general ledger.

Address delinquent accounts payable and provide updates to  management.

Match invoices with receipts before submitting for payment approval.

Prepare and present financial reports in compliance with GAAP and company policies.

Assist in contract work forecasting and budgeting.

Analyze financial performance data and track budget projections.

Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to address inquiries and resolve issues.

Ensure compliance with financial controls and policies while improving accounting procedures.

Maintain documentation and secure necessary approvals for account corrections.

Evaluate current accounting processes and implement efficiency improvements.

Qualifications :

Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in bookkeeping or accounting. Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance strongly preferred.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels.

Proficiency in accounting and bookkeeping principles.

Detail-oriented, highly organized, and self-motivated.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Outlook and Word.

Advanced skills in MS Excel (including macros, XLOOKUP, and financial reporting tools).

Experience with Power BI, Power Platform, and MS Dataverse preferred.

Familiarity with content operations and financial variance analysis is a plus.
