Job description
Apex Systems has an opening for a Technical Trainer / Learning & Development Specialist with a client in Memphis, TN. This role will require a consistent workweek of 35- 40 hours and will focus on both facilitating and developing training for our client's Workday product. ( Previous Workday experience is not required)
This is a hybrid role : Candidates will be able to work from when developing training material but will be onsite in Memphis to deliver in-person training sessions or meetings across various departments
Title : Technical Trainer / Learning & Development Specialist.
Location : Memphis, TN
Hybrid : Expect to be onsite 1-2x per week in Memphis.
Duration : 12+ month contract

Previous Workday experience is not required- Our client is willing to teach the technical about Workday. They are looking for a passionate, fun, engaging, confident instructor who can capture attention, inspire learning, and make training an enjoyable experience.
Skills & Experience :
2-4 years of experience in virtual and in-person instructor-led training
Ability to develop training materials, including written guides and computer-based training (CBT)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and e-learning tools such as Articulate, Captivate, Camtasia, or similar software
Quick learner—able to adapt to new systems and processes efficiently
Ability to assess training needs and tailor instructional approaches accordingly
Experience in evaluating training effectiveness and making continuous improvements
Strong problem-solving skills to enhance training delivery
Exceptional public speaking and facilitation skills—keeps audiences engaged
Strong writing skills for creating training materials and documentation
Ability to simplify complex topics and communicate them clearly
Comfortable with handling Q&A and interacting with diverse groups
High-energy, personable, and engaging—creates a positive learning environment
Self-motivated and proactive—takes initiative without waiting for direction
Adaptable and flexible—can adjust to different audiences and training needs
Confident yet approachable—builds rapport with learners easily.
Certifications in training or instructional design (e.g., ATD, CPTM, or similar) are a plus
