All About You
Job Duties
Under the direction of the principal investigator, assists in implementing projects, including animal research studies; assists in data collection; ordering of supplies and provides assistance in preparation of grants, manuscripts, and other reports. Assists in working with collaborators and organizing lab and other meeting
The incumbent will work with a group of nationally recognized, well-funded investigators. Using a highly translatable short bowel syndrome (SBS) model, our lab is advancing strategies to mitigate serious complications and provide key insights into drivers of injury in SBS and its mitigation with a novel system. We are investigating key pathways along the gut-systemic signaling axis as well as the role of gut microbiota in driving injury mechanisms. Our other projects involve developing an organoid model system to test FXR and TGR5 signaling pathways, evaluating non-invasive biomarkers for liver transplant rejection and several lipidomic, metabolomic and transcriptomic based approaches. This position would provide the right candidate an opportunity to work with a phenomenal team and build their career niche.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of laboratory procedures : RT-PCR, histology, mRNA extraction,
- Knowledge of the use and preparation of culture media, chemicals, and reagents
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Supervisory skills- ability to assist new technicians and neonatology fellows
- Interpersonal / human relation skills
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to tend to details
- Ability to maintain records and inventories

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Science or related field. Broad knowledge involving laboratory techniques or other specialized knowledge is desired.
