What Success Looks Like In This Job
To assist in meal preparation and other aspects of food service for the Adams County Head Start.
Examples of Duties for Success
- Assist in preparation of meals for the Head Start centers.
- Assist in maintaining inventory of all food and equipment.
- Assist in proper storage of supplies and foodstuffs according to county health department regulations.
- Assist in maintaining food service facilities, storage areas, and equipment in a clean, organized, and sanitary manner.
- Assist in the delivery foodstuffs and supplies to other Head Start Centers.
- Assist with receiving weekly food service orders.
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions.
- Attend and participate in extracurricular Head Start events as requested.
- Assist in ordering food products and supplies.
- Assist in planning nutritious menus.
- Assist in record keeping to ensure compliance with USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) regulations.
- Assist and participate in planning and executing child / parent nutrition education programs.
- Assist in accommodating children requiring special diets and making diet modifications as needed.
- Deliver meals from central kitchen to other Head Start centers.
- Perform minor maintenance on Head Start delivery vehicles.
- Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.

Must complete physical examination and TB test upon hire.
Ability to obtain, maintain, and ensure continued access to State and County systems in strict compliance with all applicable county and state regulations, policies, and user agreements.

Do you possess at least 6 months of high-volume institutional-based (schools, correctional, and / or health care facilities) cooking?
A requirement of the position is that you possess at least a high school diploma or GED. Do you meet this requirement?
Do you possess or have the ability to obtain a Colorado Driver's License?

Do you have experience with the Child and Adult Food program?
Have you worked in an institutional kitchen operating large kitchen equipment?
