Position Summary :
Duke Department of Neurosurgery is seeking a highly motivated Research and Development Engineer II to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in conducting advanced research projects focused on memory enhancement through deep brain stimulation (DBS), virtual reality applications, and trauma therapy in neuroscience.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design, execute, and analyze complex experiments and research studies related to DBS, virtual reality, and trauma therapy.
- Collaborate with Dr. Suthana and other team members to develop research protocols and methodologies.
- Collect, process, and interpret experimental data, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
- Prepare comprehensive reports, manuscripts, and presentations for publication and dissemination.
- Mentor and supervise junior researchers, graduate students, and lab technicians.
- Stay current with the latest research developments and integrate new findings into ongoing projects.
Anticipated Pay Range :
Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $65,281.00 to USD $98,902.00. Duke University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education / training, and key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.

Education
Work requires a thorough knowledge of the principles of engineeringand related natural sciences acq uired through completion of aBachelor's degree program in an Engineering science or a relatednatural science such as Physics or Chemistry. Experience
Work requires two years of related experience sufficient to acquire competency in the applicatio n of knowledge in the related Engineering field. A master's degree in an Engineering science or a relatednatural science may offset the required experience.OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND / OR EX PERIENCE.
